Version 2.0 Build 61

General

  • ADD: Support for “Skype for Business Server 2015”

  • CHN: Skype for Business / Lync is abbreviated as “SfB” throughout the accompanying documentation.

  • CHN: User data will no longer be read from the Active Directory and cached, but rather from the SfB Server’s internal databases, thus allowing multi-domain support. Functions which require AD groups to operate, such as Group Call Pickup, can be used in a multi-domain environment only in an alternative mode, for example, one where the pickup groups are set up under ‘delegate assignments’. Direct Call Pickup however works without any limitations. If at times the AD cannot be reached, for example, during an SBA due to failed WAN connection, this is now tolerated and no longer ends the license service. The functionality is thus preserved even when the WAN connection is down.

  • ADD: Architecture for the new rawFeature concept implemented. This will allow several new features to be made available in subsequent releases.

  • Various improvements in the setup:
    • ADD: all patches are always included in the setup file for Release 2.0 and higher. This allows the same setup file to be used both for installation and updates. Updates/patches are automatically installed when running setup for Release 2.0 or higher.
    • ADD: Parameters affecting the database that are entered during the setup dialogue are now automatically validated. Thus, for example, there will be a check whether the Cerebro database actually exists in the specified SQL Server and whether the specified user account has the necessary rights for both the Cerebro and SfB databases. Only when these conditions are met can setup proceed.
  • CHN: Logging simplified: by setting the LogLevel to ‘information’, all relevant data about a call will now be logged. Approx. 120KB of data are logged for each call (XMLTracer).

  • FIX: In some scenarios, it used to be possible for a call sent by a Response Group to an agent would not to be accepted by that individual and then would be forwarded to the next delegate.

  • FIX:. When an SIP address including display name which contained the character ‘">’ was selected, the corresponding user was not resolved correctly.

  • CHN: Cerebro Configuration Tool: Various optimizations and UI facelift.

  • ADD: Cerebro Configuration Tool: CredentialDialog to enter the database user account is automatically opened when a user with insufficient database permissions starts the configuration interface.

  • CHN: When checking which SfB users are not yet covered by the number of licenses per feature, the alphabetical sorting of the user list is now no longer by sAMAccountName but instead by msRTCSIP-PrimaryUserAddress.

  • FIX: When delegates were added in the SfB client, the SfB client for the delegate was no longer indicating that they had been added as a delegate.

  • CHN: The Windows service ‘Cerebro - Managed SIP Notification’ is no longer installed in this version.

BusyOnBusy

  • CHN: BusyOnBusy: If users call themselves, for example, to transfer a call to another of their devices, this call will no longer be rejected. Previously, there would be a busy tone.

  • CHN: When selecting the UserBusyResetCode, all calls will now be reset not just on that one device, but also rather on all of their devices of that particular user.

  • FIX: A user was permanently busy if the internal user on a federation call hung up first.

  • ADD: A user is now also recognized as busy when making a call via SfB mobile.

  • ADD: The busy tone is overridden for callers listed as on a ‘whitelist’ in the contact list in the user’s SfB client; i.e. the user’s phone will ring even if engaged in another conversation.

  • FIX: A caller received a busy tone even if the user had activated the ‘Simultaneous call’ feature to delegates or team members whose lines were free.

Universal Call Pickup

  • ADD: Pickup groups for group and direct call pickup conversations can now be set up for distribution groups (domains, global, or universal) as well as security groups.

  • FIX: The pickup process is now quicker. The time between picking up and signaling to that user that the call has been picked up has been significantly shortened.

  • ADD: A call that has been picked up by a user now no longer follows any active call forwarding that that user may have set up.

  • CHN: For calls that had been redirected multiple times, Pickup Toast was no longer showing the name of the original destination user, but only those to whom the call had been redirected.

Boss/Admin

This feature is new in this version and is an extension of the delegate function already included in “Skype for Business”. In German-speaking countries, this feature is also known as ‘Chef/Sek’. More information about the features can be found here.

Rule-Based Call Forwarding

This feature was newly introduced in this version. Rule-Based Call Forwarding allows “Skype for Business” users to set up extremely flexible call forwarding so that they are easy to reach. More information about these features can be found here.
